“Recently, my band from Nashville TN called Monsters of Yacht® played at The Country Club of Mobile. We own our own sound and lighting equipment but due to time constraints I decided to hire a local production provider. Lee Abbett was recommended to me by another production company. When I called Lee to hire him he told me about the new Carvin gear he is using and that we would LOVE it as much as he does.. Well, he was right! As soon as we arrived, he fired it up for us and I was blown away by the sheer volume and clarity of the rig. I couldn’t believe how much sound was coming from the physically “thin” column array cabinets. From an audience perspective, the arrays accomplished more than just great sound, they also blocked less view of the band than traditional speaker stacks and were tall enough to project over the heads of guests who ended up standing right in front of them. We play all over the country and get to play on almost every line of sound equipment out there. We had a great experience with Lee running the Carvins with this design that was new to us. Lee has great enthusiasm for Carvin gear and it is justified. In fact, this encounter made me regret buying the EV system I picked up last year… I am impressed with Carvin! Congrats on a great product!”
Mark S. Nashville,TN“The variable gain on both subs and line arrays made dialing it in much easier than my previous visit to San Diego showroom to hear the preceding models with X Drive. I think I will be much happier with the current set up. I am surprised at how efficient the TRC400 system is. I had to reduce the output from the PC music source to about half and then set the speaker gains to about 9 o’clock on the line arrays and about 10:30 on the sub gains. I was in the RV bay of my 5 car garage and was blown away at how loud it was with the input gain so low. I also experimented with bypassing the Eq and bypassing my Peavey Kosmos. I even tried unhooking the upper line arrays. It still sound good. The stack is near 8 foot tall but without the top 3900s was only about 5 foot tall and quieter and below the height of most adult ears. I bet it would likely work well with another 12 to 18 inches in the lower pole. All that to say these speakers have exceeded expectations and will require me to really watch the gain so as not to get to loud. I usually set up a pair of speakers on both ends facing each other for a four way sound. Now I seriously doubt that I’ll need to set up any more than the just the TRC400A. Well Done Carvin Audio, Well Done Indeed!”
Hardy K., WA“We purchased four of the TRx column array speakers to use with our TRx2118 subs… We were all amazed with the tone, clarity, definition, coverage & volume produced from these compact enclosures. Everything about these cabs is stellar. The vocals & instruments are clean & detailed. Coverage & dispersion from front to back, left to right of the venue is even & clear – virtually eliminated hot spots & dead spots. They have far exceeded our expectations and have made a huge improvement in the sound quality of our band.”
